Laura Enever (AUS) was looking like exiting the event with a 5th place finish in her Quarterfinal against Pauline Ado (FRA), she was left needing a decent score as the ocean went flat in the last five minutes. Eric Geiselman (USA) landed at Sydney airport this morning and two hours later was in a heat against 1999 ASP World Champion Mark Occhilupo (AUS). Geiselman didn’t let the jet-lag slow him down, the young Floridian won the closest heat of the day scoring a 13.90 (out of a possible 20) heat total, with Hawaiian Keala Naihe (HAW) finishing 2nd on 13.20 and Occy eliminated in 3rd place with 13.06.

NORTH SHORE, OAHU - (Jan. 28, 2012) -- The Banzai Pipeline caught everyone off guard today as waves doubled and tripled in size from one heat to the next. After the completion of only seven heats, competition organizers called the event off for the day due to dangerous conditions. Just under three hours of competition was a sufficient amount of time for injuries, wipeouts and hairball rides to be registered. Waves maxed out in the 15 to 20-foot range.

Reef McIntosh has conquered the Da Hui Backdoor Shootout 2012, held in splendid surfing conditions, in Pipeline, Hawaii. Intense heats were surfed in the famous big wave arena, in eight-foot glassy sets. It was an hard fought victory for the Pipe connoisseur. Bruce Irons, Jamie O'Brien and Marcus Hickman were right behind McIntosh until the last surfed wave.

In a huge day of surfing action, three events got underway starting with Round 1 of the Championship Moves Pro Junior Presented by CHIKO, followed by the opening Rounds of the ASP 1-Star Championship Moves Open Presented by CHIKO and the EVO Women’s Pro Junior Presented by Ghanda.

Bells Beach To Host First ASP Event Of 2012

COOLANGATTA, Queensland/Australia (Tuesday, 3 January, 2012) – The hallowed waters of Bells Beach, Victoria will host the opening event of the 2012 Association of Surfing Professionals (ASP) calendar with the ASP 1-Star Championship Moves Open and Pro Junior Presented by CHIKO, and the EVO Womens Pro Junior Presented by Ghanda.
The 5-day surfing festival will play host to the first ASP Star rated event in Victoria in four years, a 3-Star boys ASP Pro Junior and 3-Star girls ASP Pro Junior, with a total prize pool of $35,000 USD.

Quiksilver Pro New York Cancelled for 2012

The 2011 Quiksilver Pro New York scored excellent waves, but unfortunately will not be back in 2012.

Burrow Wins Reef Hawaiian Pro, Takes Vans Triple Crown Lead

HALEIWA, Hawaii (November 23, 2011) - West Australia’s Taj Burrow, a virtual veteran of pro surfing at 33 years of age, has claimed his first Reef Hawaiian Pro title in Hawaii to pocket $25,000 and take an early lead on the Vans Triple Crown of Surfing ratings. Burrow, who has been competing in Hawaii for 15 years, left the field in his wake today, finding a form all his own in the pumping overhead surf. Coming into the final, he claimed that this was his year to shoot for the Vans Triple Crown.
