ANDORA, Italy (Sunday, November 20, 2011) – The ASP World Longboard Tour (WLT) Bear Pro presented by Jeep has been won by Kai Sallas (Waikiki, HAW) 30, defeating Taylor Jensen (Coronado, CA) 27, in a high-scoring final 17.17 to 13.50 in clean, small 1-2ft waves at the back up site of Andora, 180kms NW of the main event site in Levanto. Jensen’s runner up finish was sufficient for the talented Californian to clinch his maiden ASP WLT World title.

Taj Burrow (AUS), 33, threading a Cloudbreak barrel in 2008 when the world’s best surfers last battled in Fiji. Next year, the ASP Top 34 will return to idyllic islands of Tavarua and Namotu for the Volcom Pro Fiji.

LEVANTO, Italy (Tuesday, November 15, 2011) – The ASP World Longboard Tour (WLT) Bear Pro presented by Jeep has called another lay day due to no swell at the main event site of Levanto. An excursion to nearby Carrara was held to visit the famous marble caves where the stone for Michelangelos works of art were extracted offering visiting officials and surfers a unique cultural experience during the lay day.

Newcastle, NSW/Australia (Tuesday, November 15, 2012) – The main event at Newcastle’s Surfest – The Burton Toyota Pro – has received a massive boost from sponsors and achieved ASP 6-Star status in 2012 to compliment the existing ASP 6-Star Women’s event, which has secured a new naming Rights sponsor – Hunter Ports.

COOLANGATTA, Queensland/Australia (Monday, 14 November, 2011) – The Association of Surfing Professionals (ASP) are pleased to announce the additions of two new Star Series events for January 2012 to be held in the Australasian region.
