Free Surf in Caparica

Located on the coastline and, in large part the result of a decrease in the ocean, the village of Costa da Caparica occupies an area of ​​10.74 km2, between the sea and the escarpment, resulting progressive lowering of that. It is the largest continuous beach in the country with an extension of approximately 30 km, between the left bank of the Tagus and the lagoon of Albufeira.


It was part of the parish of Caparica until 1926, then moving to Trafaria to be created in 1949. was elevated to town on July 9, 1985, and a city on December 9, 2004.
